Support Bay Area Babywearing
Membership in Bay Area Babywearing is optional, but highly recommended. Membership dues are $30 per year. Your donation supports babywearing education and advocacy locally, improves and maintains our Bay Area library of baby carriers, and helps us keep helping Moms, Dads, and Caregivers care for their children while being hands free. Dues-paying members have free access to borrow carriers from our library without fees or deposits, are eligible for discounts from local and babywearing-specialty businesses, and receive all other discounts, swag, and other benefits offered by Bay Area Babywearing.
To be eligible for membership benefits, please make your donation of $30 for annual dues, and complete the BAB membership application form and agreement, which is available in paper form at any meeting, in pdf form here [updateBAB], or online here. If you are using the paper or pdf form, return it to any Chapter Volunteer at a meeting or via email, along with your dues payment of $30. Dues may be paid at a meeting by cash, check, credit or debit card, or via PayPal. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization and dues are a tax-deductible charitable contribution. We also offer gift memberships! These make a wonderful baby shower or new-baby gift. Email us to arrange for a gift certificate.
If you would greatly benefit from membership in Bay Area Babywearing, but cannot afford the $30 dues, we invite you to apply for a membership funded by our “Pay-It-Forward” Program. You can do that at any meeting by speaking to the meeting leader, or submit an online application here. You will also need to fill out the regular membership application in person or using the form.
We are always happy to accept donations of money, baby carriers suitable for adding to our library, and your time and energy to help us grow! Monetary donations are used primarily to expand and maintain our baby carrier library, but may also fund printing costs and other “outreach” expenses. Our administrative expenses are minimal and our organization is 100% volunteer-run.
Bay Area Babywearing also maintains a fund of donations earmarked to provide membership benefits to local babywearers in financial need. Ever heard of a “suspended coffee” or a “pinned pizza slice”? Ever paid the bridge toll or fast food drive-through bill for the person behind you? Or paid off a stranger’s Christmas layaway account? BAB’s Pay-It-Forward Program works in a similar way. If you can, please make a donation to help the next Bay Area Babywearer (or would-be babywearer) who could really use the library’s borrowing benefits but cannot afford the $30 dues. Simply make a note on your PayPal transaction or let the volunteer accepting your cash, check, or credit card payment know that you wish the donation to be allocated to the Pay-It-Forward Program.
If you wish to contribute a gently-used baby carrier or make arrangements for any special gift, please contact any VBE. We will also gratefully accept donations at any meeting.
