Nora is a mother to 6 children, has a BA in Family Science and minor in Ethnic Studies from Fresno State, and is a Certified Family Life Educator from the National Conference on Family Relations. She is the founder of RC Fam (Raíces y Cariño), which is a community collective to strengthen and empower families. She is also the owner of Central Coast Doula Services (centralcoastdoulaservices.com); a co-coordinator of the local chapter of Nursing Mothers Counsel (nursingmotherscounsel.org); on the steering committees for the Maternal Mental Health Task Force for both Monterey and Santa Cruz counties; and a certified car seat technician through NHTSA. She has been working with families throughout the U.S. for over 15 years from pregnancy, birth, lactation, parenting, car seats, teens and even grandparenting. She takes a truly holistic approach to understand the unique needs of each individual family, while also connecting the family with the resources within their community. Nora is a passionate defender of human rights and includes her children in her advocacy work. When Nora is not serving others, she enjoys visiting theatres, symphonies, and opera houses; dancing to 90s hip-hop; and watching cheesy comedies with friends.
